What we need are:
- Energizers to boost the team's energy. They may include elements of physical activity, encourage fun and laughter, or engage participants in games. Before and after an energizer, you might ask team members to rate how energized they feel on a scale.
- Icebreakers help team members get to know each other better and explore individual backgrounds and preferences. Icebreakers create a sense of community within the group. Conclude these exercises with questions like: "What surprising insight did you gain about the team?"
- Warm-ups are intended to prepare the team for the next task or phase in the process. They should make the purpose of the upcoming tasks understandable through personal experience or stimulate perspective shifts. At the end of each warm-up, ask the team: "What did you take away from the exercise for our process?"
- Retrospectives look back on the teamwork and shared successes. Retrospectives honor the team's achievements and help understand where collaboration can improve. They are motivating and enhance efficiency for the subsequent steps of the process.
